Ways to give
Find out how you can donate to Dementia UK to help us provide Admiral Nurses for families affected by dementia.
Shop and Raise is our version of easyfundraising’s app that turns everyday online shopping into free donations. Whenever you shop online, a percentage of what you spend is donated to Dementia UK for free.
Here’s an example: Mark and Laura are booking a holiday. Instead of going straight to TUI’s website, they open their Dementia UK: Shop and Raise app first and then click the TUI link.
The app directs Mark and Laura to TUI, where they browse as normal and book their holiday – which costs them £1,500. Because Mark and Laura went through the Dementia UK: Shop and Raise app first, TUI will give Dementia UK £30 (a 2% donation) for free. It’s as simple as that.
There are over 7,500 well-known retailers to shop with, with many more added every week. Some of the retailers include Argos, ASOS, B&Q, Bloom & Wild, Boden, Booking.com, Boots, Compare the Market, Domino’s Pizza, eBay, Etsy, Hello Fresh, H&M, John Lewis, Just Eat, Marks & Spencer, Screwfix, Tesco, Waitrose, and thousands more.
Most retailers pay a percentage of what you spend with them as a donation. Others pay a fixed amount: for example, if you buy car insurance with Confused.com, they will donate £15 regardless of the cost of the policy.
No! The Dementia UK: Shop and Raise app is 100% free to register and use. Your online shop will cost you exactly the same, as the retailer covers the cost of the donation.
Every three months, on ‘donation day’, easyfundraising adds up the donations raised by all of Dementia UK’s supporters and pays us the total. To get paid, we have to reach the minimum £15 threshold. If we don’t, our donations simply roll over to the next donation day.
Go to your App Store or Google Play Store. Search for Dementia UK: Shop and Raise and download the app. Fill in the registration form, which takes a couple of minutes, and then you can start raising vital funds for families facing dementia.
