Walk, jog or run the Lake District Challenge and soak up England’s finest countryside at your pace. Choose your distance – the full challenge Kendal Loop; a half challenge, quarter challenge or 10km route; or the Lake District Marathon distance. Test yourself with a fantastic Ultra Challenge – suitable for all experience levels.

Our base camp is in Kendal. From there, the full challenge covers a loop tackling some tough hills to Ambleside, stopping halfway by Lake Windermere, and then passing through forests and nature reserves with stunning views en route. A huge welcome and celebration awaits you back at base camp after a momentous journey.

You’ll receive great hospitality all the way, including free food and drink at regular rest stops along a fully signed route, plus support from medics, marshals and massage therapists. As you cross the finish line, you’ll get a warm welcome from the cheer squad, a glass of fizz, a t-shirt, and a special medal to celebrate your achievement.

You may have to dig deep at times – but you’ll meet new friends along the way, and the journey will be unforgettable!

As Dementia UK is an official partner of this event, you will receive a 50% discount on the ‘full sponsorship’ registration fee when signing up to support families affected by dementia.

My father passed away in January 2021 having suffered with dementia for a few years. We collected money for Dementia UK in lieu of flowers at the funeral, I thought it would be a good opportunity therefore to add to the money we had already collected by walking for Dementia UK.
