“I’m fundraising through ‘Pip’s Sockathon’ – an endurance challenge to knit a pair of socks every week throughout 2024. I asked for donations of yarn and received so much – it was amazing and made me quite emotional”.

"We have had a great time planning some fun fundraising events, such as a football match against our rivals in the Manchester office and a bake sale, and are looking forward to more in the future!”

The impact you’ll make

Every penny you raise will make a huge difference to families facing dementia. Each donation, no matter how big or small, will help you reach your target. Did you know that someone simply donating £4 to your fundraiser could pay for the telephone costs of one family calling our free Helpline for immediate support? See the impact that your fundraiser could make:

  • £ 50

    could pay for two carers

to receive an hour of one-to-one support from a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse on our free Helpline.

  • £ 250

could fund a new Admiral Nurse

to run a full day of face-to-face appointments for families affected by young onset dementia (where symptoms develop under the age of 65).

  • £ 557

could pay for two Admiral Nurses

to answer calls on our Helpline on a Sunday, when other dementia services are closed.

Raising awareness – changing lives

Asking for donations can be daunting, but your fundraiser will also raise awareness of Dementia UK and the work of our specialist dementia nurses – and that can have a big impact.

If someone can’t donate to your page, they could:

  • Share your fundraiser with their networks on social media or email, reaching even more people.
  • Spread the news about Dementia UK and our specialist dementia nurses by placing posters and leaflets in their local area.
  • Help you plan your fundraiser or be there to support you on the day.
