Writing to your MP and Clinical Commissioning Groups

Writing to your local MP and/or Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) will help us raise awareness of the challenges people living with dementia and their families face. We have templates you can use below.

    Writing to your MP

Always include your name and address. It’s parliamentary protocol that MPs respond to their constituents only, so please include your address and postcode.

Find out who your local MP is and access their contact details

You’re welcome to use the template below as a guide, or not as you prefer. It would be ideal if you are able to include your own experience where indicated below; this helps show how these issues have affected you or your family.

    About Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs)

CCGs are in England only and have a strategic role locally, planning out local health services overall. They also have the power to make planning or spending decisions that could expand or improve local specialist dementia support.

You can then find the name of your local CCG Chief Executive and contact details on your local CCG’s website. Find your local Clinical Commissioning Group by postcode

If you would like to email or write to your local Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) we have created a template below. You’re welcome to use this as a guide, or not as you prefer. It would be ideal if you are able to include your own experience indicated below; this helps show how these issues have affected you or your family.

If you live in Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland

You can write to your local politician. Healthcare is devolved in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Find and write to your local healthcare provider:

Download the relevant template below. It can take time for your CCG to respond, so please be patient. If you have not heard within three weeks, you might want to contact them to follow up the enquiry.
