    Background:

Every three minutes someone in the UK develops dementia; a progressive and complex condition that can be devastating for the whole family. One in two of us will be affected by dementia in our lifetime – either by caring for someone with the condition, developing it ourselves, or both.

Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nursing charity that is there for the whole family. Our specialist nurses, known as Admiral Nurses, provide free, expert advice, support and understanding to help families care for their loved one. Every day, Admiral Nurses help families up and down the country to have the best life possible for as long as possible.

Purpose of the job/About the role

Dementia UK is seeking a Philanthropy and Partnerships Executive to oversee the cultivation and stewardship of a designated portfolio of charitable trusts and foundations, that generate donations of around £10k annually and a pool of larger trust and foundation relationships.

As our Philanthropy and Partnerships Executive, you will build relationships with trusts, providing support to the Trusts Manager in stewardship efforts and communications to key charitable trusts. Additionally, you will manage the unsolicited thanking process, ensuring donors receive appropriate acknowledgment. You will conduct detailed, compliant research for the trusts team, as you identify potential new trust supporters for Dementia UK through effective desk research and network mapping.

You will also take responsibility for the administration of the trusts programme, collaborating with the data team to ensure accurate coding of income and and that Trusts donations are handled correctly, in a way that puts the needs of the donor first.

The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in writing detailed trusts applications and producing compelling, engaging content. You will have previously created captivating content tailored for a donor audience, coupled with experience of conducting thorough desk research. You will also have experience of using a fundraising database, ideally Raiser’s Edge or Microsoft Dynamics.
