Birthday fundraising and donations

It’s your birthday! Mark the occasion in a unique way by fundraising for families facing dementia.

Choose to celebrate your birthday this year by fundraising and donating to support our specialist nurses who are offering a lifeline to families facing dementia. Help us to make sure that nobody has to face dementia alone.

Why set up a birthday fundraiser?

Celebrating your birthday by fundraising for Dementia UK is a wonderful way to help our specialist nurses support more families living with dementia.

    Birthday Facebook fundraising

If you know how to get this started, then head over to our Facebook Fundraising page to set up and share your page.
Here is a checklist to help you get your Facebook Birthday fundraiser started:

    • Decide on the amount of money you want to raise
    • Pick a title and description for your fundraiser
    • Find a cover photo (if you wish to add your own)
    • Choose the date you want your fundraiser to end

    Birthday fundraiser with JustGiving

If you don’t use Facebook or would prefer to use another platform for your birthday collection, you can set up a fundraising page through JustGiving. Share your story across your social media network so your friends and family can help you support a cause that’s close to your heart.

    Host a birthday fundraising Event

You could also hold a birthday fundraising event, for example: you could stream for your birthday, or hold a collection at your birthday party. In any case, we’d love to know if you’re planning an event so we can support your further, so please do share your plans with us here.

    Birthday fundraising ideas

A birthday isn’t a birthday without cake, so why not host an afternoon tea in aid of Dementia UK? Visit our online shop to order balloons and collection boxes for your tables.

Download our handy guide for hosting your tea party [link to be added]

You could even suggest a fancy dress theme for a small donation – we’d love to see the pictures!

Planning something different? Let us know what you’re doing.

Rather than asking for birthday presents from friends and family, I asked for donations to benefit Dementia UK for my 21st Birthday. I was so pleased to be able to send £800, as it felt more worthwhile to donate money for dementia support. My Grandad had dementia and sadly passed away two weeks after my birthday, he was very special to me and I am glad I could do this in his memory.
